a little easier. I ran for almost 3 miles yesterday. 1 mile here, another mile there, and a little harder run for under that. My endurance is picking up. Im having a harder time quitting the tabacco more than anything. Ive quit smoking cold turkey before, but shaking this dip is harder for some reason, Of course when I quit smoking I didn't have an Emily who gets into everything no matter how much discipline you give her and tell her no or stop, a 10 year old who is starting to develop that better than you attitude that cheer leaders sometimes get, a 17 year old that thinks now that she is going to college she miraculously knows more about life than I do, and the 1 year old that wants your attention 24-7. ha ha ha ha But I have cut down from 1 can a day to 1 every three to four days.
I am sad to report that I am stuck in one of the worst places in all of Texas. That's correct... I am in Irving, Tx. OMG. Why do people DO this to themselves on a daily basis????
This all started when Wifeypoo had to come up here to meet with a client for two days. Begs me to go along. Blah blah... nice hotel... blah blah...
So, I agree to go along. Note: This is NOT the smartest decision I have made this week!!!! But once made, other bad decisions follow like smells follow farts.
First, she hates traveling on the road in her car. So she askes me to drive my truck. I know that F350's do not fit in cities, but I also know I am doomed if I argue. The truck it is. First she annoys me by forgetting some part of her computer that we have to back for. (She's getting better - we were only a half hour down the road when she remembered.) Then two blocks from the Hotel she mentions that it will be easy to see since it is 28 stories tall. You know what that means? Parking garage. Ever put an F350 in a hotel parking garage? I measured 3/4 of an inch between the cement beams in the garage and my running lights. I am now a very unhappy camper!
When I do get my truck out of the cement tomb where I must park, the roads around here are beyond narrow. Infact, the only car I have seen that fits in the turn lanes are smart cars. Who designed this city? Little green men? And parking spaces.... Don't get me started on parking spaces. I couldn't fit a bicycle in an space mark "Compact Car". And driving... People here drive like insane hyperactive two year olds on sugar pills. They don't stay in their lanes (rather near their lanes - most cars can't fit in the lanes anyway... But come on people at least AIM for the lane!!!) And besides being crazy, they all talk in cell phones, EVERY singe driver has to be talking to someone RIGHT NOW! While driving! I think they are precalling 911. ("Hello 911? I am drunk, insane, and driving my Pruis at 100 miles an hour through what is more like a parking lot than a freeway. Do you thnk you could have EMS on stand by for me? 'Cause I'm in a hurry!")
I have decide to be antisocial. I now park where ever the hell I want! Multiple spaces. Middle of the road. On top of some Pruis. I don't care anymore! (or anyless!)
She wants me to take her out to some event tonight. I'll have to drive. If I don't come out of this alive, I want to leave my collection of pictures of Ford trucks to Robert.
Tomorrow I get to go home. To the wide open spaces. To where a man can stretch out and do donuts in the yard with the F350 and no one will care. (Except the wife and after for this stint in purgatory, I don't care what she thinks!!!)
Wish me luck my friends. Wish me luck.
Hotel room internet - $10 a day. Mini bar - $6.99 for a bottle of WATER. Why oh Why did I agree to this????
She wants to go to the Aquarium tomorrow before we go home. This morning at breakfast, she realizes that the truck... and I quote... "doesn't have a trunk to hide the computer in...".
That banging sound you heard was my head hitting the table in the restaraunt....
Sounds like you are in need of an early cocktail Tim! HAHA
OMG Tim,,, I don't aim to rile you anymore but,,, she isn't by any chance a 'blond' is she?? I feel for you,, I go through the same things at times,, she doesn't like the truck, smell bad cause I smoke and chew, won't ride in it,,too bumpy and noisey, etc etc. and the seat belts rub certain body parts the wrong way. I dunno,,can't live with 'em and can't live without 'em my dad always said,,,bless his heart. Hope you have a good week-end in beautiful downtown Irving and Dallas,, you'll love the world Aquarium. Come over to Arlington ifn ya want some good entertainment. Rangers may be playing,,tour the Cowboys stadium, go to 6 flags over Texas or even the Hurricane Harbor(water park) always something goin on here,,,Larry
She actually likes riding in the truck for two reasons: 1) She can look out and see way ahead (so she has more time to gasp and push the imaginary brake pedal when a dog runs into the road 4 miles ahead) and 2) She knows she will not be asked to do any of the driving.
That really sucks Tim. I had kind of the same thing happen to me yesterday. The wife had to go to Lubbuck. Of course she has to take my truck for some reason, and tells me I have to go because she is not driving it around Lubbock. What? No, I don't want to go to Lubbock and back today. Of course I ended up going an driving all day. Lubbock isn't no where near as bad as dfw area, but don't you love how they never want to take the truck anywhere until it comes to going out of town.
HA HA HA HA HA HAH A HAH A HAH AH AH A HAH AH AH A HAH AH AH AH AH AH AH AHA HA HA HA HAH A HAH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH H AH H AH H AH H H AHHA HAAAHAH HA A HA AHHA HA H AHAH AH AH TIM!!!
come on down to Houston so you can have a get away from your get away hee hee hee
I laughed so hard reading that, not just because it was a funny read, but because ITS NOT ME
Good luck to ya, hope you make it out without any more scrapes and bruises
