Probably was made in the USA and not this Chinese crap we get now a days. Saw a news report the other day that the Chinese worker is only a third productive as an American worker and that Chinese wages are going up. Having things produced in China aren't as competitive and factories are moving back.

Hi all,
Thought I'd say hello and tell everyone in the Texas chapter that my wife and I are coming to the home state for a week. We hope to be in Denison about 10-11 Saturday morning, the head to a little north of Palestine on the way to Seguin, where we plan to stay the night. Sunday, we will go to San Antonio to Fort Sam, to visit my Dad and Uncle's resting place, then to my Aunt's house on Hiawatha st. to talk about family. Then we will go down to Poteet for a bit, then to Comfort, Kerrville and on to Fredericksburg to spend Sunday night. Monday we will visit some roadside stands as we head to Luckenbach, then we will be off to Salado for lunch, on the way to Waco( Dr. Pepper museum) then to Dublin to spend Monday night. We plan on visiting the Dublin Dr. Pepper plant, then head off to Abilene to see Buffalo Gap historical village and maybe some shopping. We will head off to Turkey to spend the night. Wednesday after viewing the Bob Wills museum, we will head to Throckmorton to take pictures of the war memorial and visit any relatives still there. The plan is to go to Archer City from Throckmorton to visit the bookstore there and spent Wednesday night somewhere around Muenster. Thursday afternoon, we plan to be heading East on 82 towards Paris to visit my Mom. If any of you happen to see us--honk, wave, pull us over for a chat. We will be in the new truck ( see sig.) and hopefully the pics I will attempt to put in will show up

Thanks and hope I get to meet some of you,
Best regards,
Russ

Sounds like a fun trip Russ. Have you run this route through an online map to see the distances between stops you're talking about? Those are some pretty good drives without the planned stops along the way. Be sure to leave yourself some time for things that just come up or look interesting along the way.

Chris,
I've kinda looked at the miles between stops. I think the longest daily milage will be the first day. We have gone from our house to Seguin 5-6 times the last 4 years, but always in the car. This truck is more comfortable than the 2000, so I hoping to switch off driving duty with the wife. We have driven roughly the route a couple of times. The drive from Dublin to Turkey will be longish but most of the stops won't be very long i.e. over an hour.
The longer stops will generally be with relatives. Many of the stops will be at fruit stands and winerys, where we have a list of things to buy, if available. The two Dr Pepper museums are mostly for the gift shops as is Luckenbach's general store. Bob Wills and the Booked Up bookstore are going to be limited by the amount of time I can stand without being in pain. We do have a few hours built in to the schedule. I plan to roll off from home about 3:00AM-3:30AM to start and the wife will sleep the first 4-5 hours. There were many interesting sights to see but many got cut because they were not open when we planned on going thru, unfortunately.
Thanks for the comments, its time to flip the burgers, stir the noodles, and check on the baking apples.
Best regards,
Russ

G Morning Nebraska and all,, please send some cooler weather down Texas way will ya?? please,,, pretty please.? I and others have to work outside in this 108F. If we don't get a cool down soon,, they going to put a more strict water restriction on us,, less water usage no yard watering at all. Its serious here. Maybe even have rolling black-outs again due to high electric use. I haven't washed my trucks in a mth,, don't do no good,,2 days later they all dusty again. Oh well,,off to the sweat-shops,,later :-)
