We should have a much stronger relationship with Russia.........They and China have actually had real shooting skirmishes and artillery attacks on their border over the years, do not think that China does not covet the vast natural resources in Siberia.......Russia has reason to fear China, even during the height of communism, China and Russia were at odds......There is no love lost here.
Russia and the US would both benefit economically and militarily from a strong alliance, we have much more in common with the Russians than we do the ChiComs..........Besides, Siberian crude could help undercut ME jihadists financial contributors..........I would rather give oil money to Vladimir Putin and his money laundering, corrupt, mob government than a bunch of "Death to America! Jihadists"

IMO if their is another "Third Reich" emerging out there..........Its the one blitzkreiging our economy at your local Wal mart......Beware of China.

If you dont already know who George Soros is you really want to find out

He was a Jew who worked for the ***** in WW2 selling out other jews

Today he is worth over $12 B US and is a major political contributor to Marxists/Progressives in USA

$5.00 a gallon for fuel? In Canada I pay abt. $1.13 a litre for diesel and if you do the math that works out to abt. $4.52 a gallon. Have been paying around a dollar a litre for almost a year now and that works out to abt 4 dollars for an american gallon. You still pay it, but I cut back in other things. Ian

I think the point is if the US is looking at $5.00 a gallon fuel then oil is around $150 a barrel. When that happened last time around, the world economy was in rapid decline a few months later. We (the entire world, not just USA) are just now seeing a potential end to that dip but are poised for a recovery or second decline.

The lesson is the world can't afford oil at $150 a barrel. We need to sober up and find reasonable alternatives.

I think its crazy... seeing how the Oil Heads said that 70$ a barrel was good enough as they make a decent profit there... that was after oil hit $30's a barrel...

Now its spiking again... lots of ppl have their hands in the cookie jar to keep it high (BP made 20Bil profit they estimate this year even after paying out 30Bil + for the blowout).

Last time gas hit $5 a gallon it was speculators aka George Soros wanting to make the Reps look bad.

This time its the Fed creating inflation so slimey bankers can make more $$

As for alternatives, Fischer Tropsch, we have the tech and an ocean of coal so lets get to it

I hope it is not true! look what happened last time the oil companies and speculators decided what oil prices should be. that was the beginning of the recession. if they try it again that will pretty much be the nail in the coffing for our economy. they tried it before back in 08 and it didn`t work, what makes them think it will work now when there is less money for people to spend.

The oil companies and government don't care. The poorer you are, the less of a threat you are to their well being. They know you will simply cut back on eating out, driving, clothing, and recreation. They also know you can take a serious look at the $69 to $89 a month cell phone and Cable TV plans you currently have, do you really need cell phones and 300 channels? They're betting you don't and that you can do without them in an effort to afford gasoline. They also know you can cut back on designer and brand name clothing and shoes. None of the luxuries in life means anything to them when their profit margin and record earnings are at stake.

Excursion fillup ------------ 44 gallons x $5.199 a gallon = $228.75

you guys dont have it that hard.

i pay at the moment £1.31 a litre (conversion rate of todays works out at $2.03a litre)

2.03 x 166 litres (44 US gallons) = wait for it...... $336.98 a tank full , only get about 400-450 miles at best on that too

you're creeping up , but not in the way the UK gov seem to do it, 2 or 3 times a year they seem to chuck on extra tax for fuel.

was only about 15 years ago we could get a gallon for $1.50 too now look at our great economy lol

and i'm saving my toilet rolls , although my kids find them & use them.... i'll have to coat them in butter , that will stop em lol

We need to tap into the Bakken Formation in North Dakota and man up and only allow US drillers/refineries in there. We would have more oil than we need. If and when we have a surplus, then it can be sold off internationally. Between Bakken and Prudhoe Bay, we have more than enough to be self-sufficient and OPEC can kiss our a&*es....

I have been a firefighter/paramedic for 29 years with a small municipal fire dept here in NW Indiana, and when fuel prices skyrocketed a few years ago, it really hurt us. Ambulances and fire apparatus use a lot of diesel fuel. We were shutting vehicles off at a scene if they weren't directly involved. That didn't work out real well....

I do have a lot of ammo and toilet paper, though..... And a couple of acres in the country where we do have 2 wells for water and grow a lot of our own food...

$5 gas is not the greatest worry now

Check out the new EPA guidelines that are coming straight from the White House. Since Cap & Trade was DOA the WH decided to do an end run around the Congress and force this upon the EPA

These new regs will now apply severe new controls on how much carbon emissions factories in USA can put out. What do you suppose thats going to do to unemployment, manufacturing, & prices in USA ?

Its much worse than $5 gas

Gas,guns, food, ammo, water, cars, recreation. You name it and someone in an elected office will be working to remake your passion into something he or she thinks is better/safer and taxable. Best thing you can do is VOTE. Find people who believe the way you do and then work to get them/you into office. If we dont vote we cant complain. I mean you can but you didnt do anything but whine about getting bullied.
