OK, since I started the thread, I guess I should share my thoughts.
It's no secret I have a lot of vehicles. Sadly enough though, the Crown Victoria, the conversion van, the Explorer and the Excursion all get terrible gas mileage (notice they are all Fords ). The 1994 Ford conversion van only has 32,000 miles on it. The Crown Victoria, less than 20,000 miles. The Excursion and the Explorer in the low 50K range. I have no intention of getting rid of any of the four unless somebody makes me a decent cash offer on any of the four.
I also have a company car and gas from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and any other hours it involves actual work for the company. So I don't drive my personal cars a lot anyway. I have to keep trickle chargers on most of them so the batteries don't go dead on me, especially in the winter season.
Don't get me wrong, $5.00 a gallon will affect me. But not in the way it affects most people who have to drive their own vehicles to and from work.
Forget the how and the why, the politics....
God help this country when gasoline does reach $5.00 a gallon!!!
I can't believe this forum turned into a political blog. I come here for truck advice and now I get the same crackpot crap I have to endure from so called "news?"
Ah, it happens once-in-awhile. That's what makes it cool. We're not so rigid that we can't have a divergent conversation at times.
The people on this board have shown amazing generousity and technical savvy. Please don't let emotion and lack of rational thought destroy that.
Take it with a grain of salt bro. A lot of the respondents are posting with humor.

Won't ever happen with me. I won't drink that kool-aid.
Buying a hybrid won't ever make me feel good, unless I'm buying because I like the vehicle.
I like camping in the woods, and I enjoy the forest, but you won't see me walking around hugging the trees!

PS - Don't forget, toilet paper...stock up on toilet paper!
Hardest thing I experienced was during last gas $4.00-$5.00 a gallon was when I managed the refrigerated side of Transportation for LA/AR/TX for a poultry company...
Needless to say the pinch it put on all the carriers was unbelievable... suddenly they were losing money per mile vs making a little... lots of companies went belly up and couldn't afford to run... it was gravy when gas was low and water and bread during high times... sad thing is so many never 'fully' recovered as some had hoped, and our economy will pay the price all around for the rising of gas.
higher transit costs = goods cost more on all ends to produce, and have final product in store = harder on consumer who is paying more to get to store and paying more at store.
I agree on the TP... i got ammo and guns, but I don't see using those to clean myself...
with ammo and guns you can get anything u desire, its better then visa
I remember walking the streets of kuwait as a young Marine thinking to myself look at what you can get with just guns and force.. as we liberated the city.
$3.15 here in PA now for this ethanol crap = poorer mileage. People will just stop driving like they did a few years ago and the great Obummer will fall like a bag of trash and the economy will halt. Rural PA is ready for the city dwellers that ruin our state already. Read "Broke" by Glenn Beck and realize how we've all been raped by our own government theives who don't buy gas or pay their own way, or worth, but will still line their pockets with our money. The "Great Society" of equality/progressives is exposed with those, not really entitled, getting the free hand-outs. Yes King Soros....you are naked. Welcome to reality and our society, Mike.
Sure, google could answer this for me, but sweet lid and where did you get it?
Thanks. I bought it off some guy on Ebay. If you search under F250, it may still be there. It was a year ago. I wanted the black and not chrome to match my Ex color.
