i have a straight pipe on mine, no muffler or cat and im addicted to the sound of my truck, its not loud in the cab unless you rag on it, or when you pass someone and hear it bounce off their car lol
I took my cat off when I bought the truck. I wasn't too concerned about any EPA testing where I lived then. Guess what. I moved! So, I put the cat back in because I wasn't sure if they would look for it.
Did they? I don't know. The test was a snap test.
I have since noticed that my milage drop about 1.5 mpg. I've taken it back off.
So, if you are in a state that doesn't check for cats, rip it out. I suggest you keep the cat in the garage just in case!
Or you can take a metal rod and ram all the screening out of it.
I have had my cat and muff off for over two years. I love the sound and it keeps the egts down. I have not felt any power loss. I think for our trucks it's the best idea.
Yup
I deleted my cat and muffler and love that I did.
less back pressure = lower egts
less back pressure = better turbo spool up
less back pressure = more sound
less back pressure = less resistance on the engine
