I saw it for 2.99 per gal at pilot. Is that not good?

I bought the 2 jug box from my local Ford Dealer but no nozzles. Has anyone else seen this? Are there two different part numbers? Sales guy didn't mention nozzles and I didn't know to ask since this was my first DEF purchase. I just used a funnel and tried to minimize spillage.

DEF Nozzel and Jug

After reading a post in another thread regarding topping off the DEF on a fairly new truck I decided to do the same. A friend in Texas told me to buy the DEF from the dealer as it included the nozzle assembly so I did. It turns out the nozzle is sold separately for $5.93 and the 2-1/2 gallon jug costs
$13.54, (plus tax for both). Works out to just under $6.00 per gallon.

I bought my 2014 F250 the last week in August (this year) and there was 1707 miles on it when I topped off the DEF tank. It took what I'm guessing is a little less than 1 gallon. Driven mostly around town with about 25% freeway driving. No towing yet.

Not sure why the reply is so spread out. Tried to fix it on edit but it posted the same way.

I bought the jug kit from my local dealer for my first refill of DEF and cringed at the price. Since then I've been refilling it at truck stops. WAY CHEAPER. Last time I topped off I got 3 gallons for $8. So much easier and cheaper this way.

I don't have any def pumps close by. Usually I can find a farmer to buy it from or I use the gummout brand box from advance auto with an online coupon. Usually can get the 2.5 gallon box for $10.

The gummout box is the easiest thing to use as well. No jugs to tip or fight. Simply set the box on the tonneau cover, pull the hose out of the box to the def fill and open the valve. Gravity does the rest. Super easy.
