There is a white washer that is included but be careful, it will slide off the assembly if you're not watching while you're putting the tube down in the jug. If you screw the filler spout down on the jug w/o the white washer, it will leak!!!
Aha! That is what the washer is for! I added DEF last week at 2500 miles and it took almost 2.5 gallons. It leaked a little, but only on the pavement. The directions on the container are a bit vague but I should have figured it out. Thanks!
Good information. I'm very glad I found this forum and the 6.7 sub forum specifically. I am a two day owner of a 6.7 and trying to absorb all I can. The engine is more than I expected, but I am just amazed of what this truck can do both work wise and entertainment wise. That Sync system is something else.
It is actually the same engine that is on Champ's Ally, just a few years older. Loaded to fish with two people, my Bullet will run high 80's while still getting close to 5 MPG.
My boat is not nearly as fast as the Allison or the Bullet, but it gets the job done. I like to think the Ranger is the F250 of the bass boat world.
But back on topic, what is the shelf life of the DEF? My dealer gave me a 2.5 gallon jug with the spout and I was thinking of keeping it in the tool box in case of an emergency.
