Totally off topic here but I was reminded of the office building where I work,
the janitorial staff has a vacuum cleaner with about 100' of speaker wire as the
power cord.

Yeah, that's UL listed, I'm sure....

50 Amp Speakers?
Ohm, maybe???

I don't mean to sound condescending, but do you understand how electricity works?
Two years of EE doesn't make me Tesla, but perhaps I assume more than I should of the vast majority.

I can respectfully say no.

(Why do you think I keep asking all these questions)

Why, what gauge wire should I use for 50 amp speakers?

If there is a chance I can use the same gauge speaker wire for my speakers and my ignition, that would be great... But, I don't know what gauge wire to get.

50 amp speakers, that's a wrong mixture of terms, it's like saying you've got 50-gallon light
bulbs in your house.

I think whatever gauge speaker wire you end up buying will work fine for your solenoid....

EDIT: I think he's talking about speakers that can handle 50 watts.

Woah... hold on....

So, do I get 16 gauge wires for my speakers and my solenoid?

Or is 16 gauge not right for my speakers?

So, it's amps, not watts...

If your speakers were a purely resistive load you could use Ohm's law to simply determine wire size.
50 Watts @ 12Volts = just over 4 Amps

The chart I posted before would tell you you only need 23Ga wire for your speakers.

You must have one hell of a stereo in there.

16 Gauge is FINE for both your speakers and starter bypass.
It is cheap and easy to get.
It has more than enough current carrying capacity.
