2006 Power Window Problem

My driver's side window switch began working sporadically. If i held the switch down long enough or pushed down hard enough it would work. After months of this all windows stopped working. I replaced the #401 (30-amp breaker) but they still dont work. What now?

Would the window move very slowly or did you have to press very hard on the switch but then the window would run up or down at normal speed?

Sometimes, not always, if i pushed on the window button nothing would happen. But when the window did move - it was at normal speed. Happened randomly. After several months of this i got in started the engine and none of my windows work.

I had the same problem. A few people on the forum reported the same problem. I had my window switch changed and that fixed the problem. Some people have removed the drivers side switch and cleaned out the contacts and is working fine. If you do a search on here you should come up with some hits.

My 2006 also suffers from this issue... Sometimes I have to push pretty hard on the switch to get the window to move.

I found this walkthrough that explains what causes this and shows how to fix it. It has lots of pictures and it pretty detailed.

Hope this helps!

Did this procedure on my 06 a few months ago; drivers window was intermittent and has worked fine ever since.
Scrape the contacts gently with a dental pick and apply light coat of anti-oxidant jelly, the kind used on bulbs and trailer harness connectors.
I used GROTE brand in a tube.
