The high/low operation simply retracts the spring-loaded bulb inward or pushes it outward (I forget) to change the angle of the beam going out. It's a simple electromagnet.
I opted for 4500K lights since they are very similar color to my wife's Lexus stock HID's. Thinking is, they're not as obvious as the higher K's and not a strong fixit-ticket magnet..
I have yet to be flashed by anyone in the past 5months that I've been driving with both headlights and fogs on--I drive about an hour in the dark everyday in mixed city/freeway traffic.
If you're being flashed, then your headlights just need to be adjusted downwards a tad.
There is indeed a definite cutoff if I look at it on my garage door. It's not as bad as anti-aftermarket HID folks say they are; but for sure, the cutoff is not a crisp and clean perfect line as my wife's projectors. The light is scattered a bit on the sides compared to projectors, but that's ok to me... it lets me see more compared to shining a flashlight down the road like projectors..
I think y'all should be ok with the DDM's. Just get a set. You can't go wrong.

Did you get the 55W kit or 35W? I definitely have to adjust my headlights down some. After I level the truck I plan on doing it.
Does anyone know the difference besides what the site tells me? Which by the way, is just that the Raptor kit is more "bulletproof" and is 3/8" thicker.
Just read they revised the warranty on the raptor kit to Lifetime....so other than being bigger I'd be curious to know why they're cheaper too. One thing I notice on the slim ballast is it has an inline black box...I wonder if that's why I don't get static through the radio when mine are on and some people with others do...?
It's not clear what the difference is between the slim and raptor other than thickness. I got the slims for both foglights and headlights, 35W bulbs on both.
I had a hard time deciding like you guys, but considering the lifetime warranty, I don't think we should really be concerned about robustness.
Originally, I did only the headlights, but the 4000K Silverstars in my fogs simply looked yellow compared to the 4500K DDM's and the truck looked cheesy with 2 colors at night. I didn't think 500K would be much difference!! My recommendation is doing both at the same time if you use your fogs a lot.
I just wished there were some mounting tabs or screw holes that can be used to tie/mount the thing a bit more securely than tie-wraps and double-sided tape.
What is the corresponding 9140/9145 fog light bulb?
9145 is the same as H10. Works great!!
The 9145/H10 set that I got came with an extra power cable along with a rubber grommet all on the same harness. Not sure what those are for...so I took them off. I guess they're used for some headlight assemblies?
Documentation is non-existent, so it took a few minutes of bewilderment for me to figure it out. Fortunately, there's only 1 way to plug stuff in. Just make sure plus goes to plus and ground goes to ground on the H13's
All I know is that I ordered mine on Sunday and they still haven't shipped them! It's probably me just being impatient...but I want my new headlights!!

Yikes, 3 days to get kits into a box and out to FedEx?? If I were you, they would have gotten a call from me yesterday.
Hey guys,
The '06 and later have those round fogs, not the rectangular ones like the '04 and '05.
The 9145 bulb applies to my '05, so double check your '06's+ to see if they're the same bulb.

I ordered on 12/16/10
They shipped on 12/22/10
I received it on 12/28/10

9140 is what the stock bulb should be. 9145s are currently in my '06 as I was trying to go a little brighter at the time.
