I have heard good things about the Philips Xtreme Power bulbs, most say they are the brightest DOT legal bulb out there for our trucks. Hella makes a 100/80 9007 bulb, but at the least you would need to add heavier wiring and relays, and I don't know if the additional heat would effect the housings.
I'll see how it turns out.
I might consider doing that projecter retrofit thread that was posted recently
-ruli00
Thats what I did before the retrofit. When ready all you'll need is new D2S wires that go from ballasts to new D2S bulbs if using the FX-R projector.
For anyone that cares the picture below is the light from a FX-R projector retrofit. NOT from the projector bought lights that are for mostly looks not output lighting.
I'd recommend Sylvania's Silverstar Ultra bulbs! I have them in my headlights and fogs. Very bright, and a nice clear white light. Sylvania says Up to 50% brighter, up to 40% more downroad visibility and up to 50% more sideroad visibility, and I'd agree. I picked up both at Wal-Mart for under 90 bucks. Easy upgrade. I would advise not doing it on a rainy or humid day. I've seen moisture fog up a lens, and it's very hard to remove.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree here, the Silverstar's are the worst IMO. They don't last long and are not that bright, def not worth the money they charge. For $35 you can get a set of single beam HID's from DDM...and they're just plug and go.
