I have an E-350('01) that I need to outfit for pulling my home away from home (25' coachman,3900# dry weight). I am looking for a class III/IV receiver and a brake controller for up to six brakes. Also I need any advice available concerning wiring points on this chassis.
For the hitch, I would suggest finding a local RV shop that sells and installs hitches.
For the brake controller, the Tekonsha Prodigy is hard to beat. A lot of guys here on the forum use it with great satisfaction. Look for it at the RV dealer or have them order it for you if they don't have it. Someone here may be able to recommend a good online supplier as well.
If your van has the trailer plug already in the rear, you should be all set once you get a brake controller. There should be a connector pre-wired already for the brake controller. I'll let someone with a similar model as your's tell you where to look for it.
A lot of guys have bought the Prodigy off of eBay for about $100. I got mine at www.BrakeController.com. They have them for $125 with free second day shipping.
The day draws near for me to pull out on the road with my "new" tow vehicle. I found a reciever from Valley Industries (classIV) on sale at Advanced Autos parts store(would you belive $99.88 before taxes). Sale ends Feb. 28th. My brake controller I found on E-Bay (Teknosha Prodigy) for $99.99+shiping. Thanks to all for your help now and in the future.
