The torque converter was the weak link in My 67's C6 but imagine My surprise at the condition of the forward clutch pack. Here is a pic next to a good uesd clutch.
Normally before that starts to happen the planetary gear set tries to explode from the aluminum case holding it. I am in the process of building up a C-6 for my 7.3 and it has taken me a few months to get all the parts I wanted. I tried the E4OD gear swap in the C6 and hated it. So Now I have started to rebuild it my way (using the TCI case after their high performance reman crapped out on me in 8 days and got a partial refund) I have been getting all my parts from C4 C6 Performance Transmission from PATC, C6 Transmission prices are good and the guys are helpful if you need it.
lol, torque im sure was an issue. trying to drive while your wheels are chained to cement blocks might have been part of the problem lol. all i know is i want that guys rear end, cause if the driveline twisted before the rear end exploded, thats a good one
the name came from some "brothers" I'm my old motorcycle club. We were based outta oakland and I was a fan of black chicks, and many of them were quite fond of me.
Holy crap I leave for an hour and this happens? LMAO
Was thinking a bit more about the tranny - no make that "C6 Automatic TransMISSION!" - and was thinking your shifting pattern could alsot be on the harsh side. That could cause that sort of damage too.
