Im installing the intake and headers on my 79 F100 striaght 6 wondering bolt tightening sequence and torque spec any help would be much appreciated dont want any leaks ... Thanks !!
Do not know them off hand try a search in the eng forum, but I do know to make sure you have no oil/grease on your hands/eng head/or header it can cause you to burn up that brand new gasket.
Use lots of anti-seize on the bolts, maybe up grade to grade 8 and make sure your bolt head has enough size to apply a spread torque on the header flange.
And consider some 2 piece lock washers with little teeth (called?) from Fastenal. And do a hot and cold torque ck, have a nice day.
Usaully you do exhaust manifolds from the middle bolts out in kind of N pattern first towards the rear of the engine then towards the front. According to my Haynes exhaust manifold to head is 28-33 ft lbs.; intake manifold to exhuast manifold is 28-32 ft lbs.; and intake manifold to head is 22-32 ft lbs.
