OBS to NBS

Hey guys, dont shoot me! I usually hang out in the OBS 7.3 forum, but I came over here to see what you all had to say.
I have searched, but didn't seem to find what i am looking for. I am a proud owner of 2 OBS psd's, but am considering selling one to go to a NBS. How many have done this and would you do it again? I am happy with the truck, but i think i have a screaming deal on the NBS and the crew cab (vs ext cab) would be great. Thanks for your thoughts.

Since you have another OBS and want a crew cab, I would say go for it. My next daily driver will certainly be a crew cab.

I have both and like them both. my '97 is cc 4X4 and my '99 is regular cab 2WD and has my service body on it. both have standard transmissions.

The ONLY thing I don't like about a CC is you cannot reach the rear slider window from the driver's seat.
You have to get out and open the rear door to open or close it.
Everything else is great.
I love the extra room and the long wheel base is a complete non-issue for me.

A little pricey, but I share in your frustration.

I think I'll just stick to having one of the grandsons operate the window.

It reality, the differences are more creature comforts (especially with the 02/03 models), but the 7.3L is pretty much the same, and with mods, they are mostly equally capable. There are differences in things like brake size & suspension as well, so if towing/hauling capacities are an issue, the SD will also work better for you there as well...

Thanks Izzy; I appreciate your comments. I love my OBS, but i think I would be willing to change to the NBS (only a 7.3) if the right deal came along.

I went from an OBS gasser, to an SD PSD, and then back to an OBS PSD. I liked the SD just fine, but I like my OBS better. Don't do it, you'll end up back with an OBS like me

I have heard that a bunch. Going through the pros and cons over the past few days, I think the only way for me to move to the NBS would be for a screaming deal on a perfect truck. I am pretty happy with my 2 OBS's.

I've heard it as well. Not to be argumentative, but why? Newer, more refined truck, bigger brakes, better interior, better hauling/towing capacities...... I loved my '84 convertible Mustang GT as well (especially after swapping the 351W/C6 into it!), but I wouldn't go back to one.

Just curious.......

My towing truck is a 1997, F350, PSD, 5 spd, ext cab dually and I love it and am very happy with it. But, I thought a good deal had come up on a 02 NBS crew cab. So, I was looking into the new style because it was newer and a crew cab. The new truck did not turn out to be a good deal as there was too much wrong with it for the money.

I have another OBS that is a 1997, CC, 250, 4x4, PSD, auto that I like, so the cab is not of extreme importance, but would have been nice if the NBS truck had been a good deal.
