7.3 / 6.0 Intercooler Dimensions
Hey there guys, usually on the IDI forums but i figured id stop in here and ask a question. Ive heard of people running 6.0 intercoolers in 7.3 PSDs, and with the better odds of finding a take off IC for a 6.0, that is what im looking to stick in my 79 IDI. Question is, will it fit? I know i can make quite a bit more room up there than what there is now (not much) but not sure if it will be enough. If anyone happens to know, or can get ahold of measurements for a 6.0 or 7.3 PSD intercooler i would really appreciate it.

i have a 7.3 one in my garage...trying to sell...i can get you measurements tonite if someone doesnt chime in.
the 6.0 is probablly very similar...i just took out my 7.3 and installed the 6.0 with Riffraff boots. my stock ones were too short...

I don't have the exact dimensions, but I believe the 6.0L IC is about 6" taller than the 7.3 version. Here is a pic of both side-by-side. Also, the boots ARE different for the two, so you'll need to know which you're using before getting boots...

Ooh excellent, i may indeed just end up going with a 7.3 cooler shorter will definately not hurt my situation, once i find some numbers i will see just exactly what i have room for, and can make room for.
