Geez, that sled looks good but i don`t know, i wouldn touch it! i`ve had tons of different brand sleds in my time, even raced for Doo, i`ve got my own shop and fix lots of polaris`s, there not built with quality like yamaha`s and ski doo`s, Po`s are the lowest on my scale, i haven`t sledded in a few years but i have lots of customers that have switched to the yamaha 4 strokes, nitro`s ect, the`ve been really good sleds that take a beatin and keep on ticking!

Congrats Sherm!!! I think you will love the switchback, suppose to be much better than the last couple 800 versions. We will have to do some riding for sure this winter. I have an 09 Shift 136 600 and it is great. I also have my 2000 Yamaha SRX 700 triple/triple for the speed cure.
I've been contemplating selling the Shift and getting an 800 renegade but we'll have to see. I really like the looks of the switchy you are getting!

Congrats on the new ride - first reports are that its a cold sled do ride with the hood/windshield design, even with the taller windshield. You might need to work out some clothing adjustments. Couple friends say the wind wants to go up the pant leg and lift the suit from the boot...

Thanks guys. Spent about an hour on it this evening...anialated a few drifts and banks It rocks. Definately doesn't have the wind protection of previous sleds, but I'll sacrifice that for the performance of the beast. I'll get some pics tomorrow. One thing is for certain, we do need more snow...

yes, we do have enough to get out for a rip, but you have to be careful. Another foot would be adequate...

All brands have problems - Skidoo 800 engines in the mid 2000's were dropping like flies, the boys at Rec Supply said cylinder kits for those sleds made them a fortune...
A few years ago the Skidoo machine tolerance was off on the clutches and wouldnt let them shift out causing belt eating issues - sounds superior to me!
Arctic Cat Diamond drives are a bit of a weak link and arent cheap to fix...
Four stroke sleds arent as much fun to ride ibn the deep snow cuz they sink due to the weight..
Polaris 800's from 08-10 spent lots of time on trailers...
They will all be on both ends of a tow rope...

Absolutely right Warren. Far as I'm concerned, I got the best sled for ME. Thats all that matters. With any luck, it'll be a solid performer, and last me quite a while. 2 years warranty gives me peace of mind also. Word has it that the Polaris 800's were melting due to the fuel injection running them too lean. Apparantly this has been solved for the '11's, but there was supposed to be some updated programming for previous problem sleds too. I remember riding with a buddy a few years ago who has a 800 rev. Went through 3 belts in our day trip, at 140/each, it was an expensive day for him!!!
