kenwood cd player

i have an oppertunity to buy a brand new kenwood KDC-X959 cd player. it a good deal price wise but i didnt know if kenwood was the way to go. anybody out there that has had experience with one of these please tell me. i am currently running a two year old sony xplod cd player and that has done good for as hard as i run it but cds skip like hell opposed to the same cd being played in my friends alpine. please give me your input on this cd player or any other ones that might be as good or better.

It will probably be better then your Sony.

I run clarion right now in my acura, I'd go with Pioneer if I did it again.

Depends on the price your spending, mine is a 400$ deck, I'd go about same price range for a pioneer right now unless I wanted mp3...but I dont.

Anyway just MHO.

The KDC-X959 is awesome, it is Top shelf, get it if the price is right.....What can you get it for ? I got mine new for $400.00. Plays MP-3's, has 4 Volt rca's and best of all the face is NOT motorized. I know a lot of people who have had problems with the motorized Kenwoods.

I have always owned Kenwood Home and Car stereos, and they are a fine product, NEVER put one in the shop in over 25 years of ownership.

I'll second the home stereo. For its price, its a nice medium range home equipment. But would you rather have kenwood or Harmon Kardon?

As for the car I still say Pioneer is the best ATM for $ to quality value.

But if rbraughn has the model your looking at it and he likes it hten by all means get it if you think its worth it!

Ok i talked around and that kendwood looks real nice. now i want to run some more subs. i was lookin twp 15" solo barics to add on to my 10" i am pushin the 10" with a 600.1 so what should i push the 15"s with. I was thinknin a 1200.1 kicker sony. the 1200.1 can drop to 1 ohm so i can push both the 15's at 2 ohm giving the amp a one ohm load and i can get maxium power from that amp instead of just using 2 ohm and pushing 600 watts from it. does htat sound alright or is there something i should change before i go into buyin all this.

That amp looks nice. I think it would be able to push those subs. Why not 2 600.1's? One for each sub. JMO

i could do 2 600.1 amps but then i have to run more wire so i was wonderin cause that 1200.1 would be bout the same thing though wouldnt it. will that 1200.1 have to have 1/0 wire or can i run 4 ga to it. im hopin i could just use 4 ga cause we cant get 1/0 around here. do you think 2 15s will be to much with that 10". my question now is what wire to feed to the amp

UMMMMM, H.K.

Thats kinda like asking if I'd rather have a Ford or a Lamborghini

Oh, and BTW, I don't know much about the Pioneers nowadays, The last one I had was a big square Bracket Mounted SuperTuner with the round dial display for the tuner in a 1973 Toyota P/U....OOPS, I'm dating myself aren't I
