CD player installation

i'm sure there is an easy fix for this, but has anyone installed a CD player in an '85 or '86 Bronco? I put one in my '86 today and the faceplate won't fit around the cd player. I'm using a installation kit from Circuit City and i'm installing a older Alpine CD player.

Any help here?
thanks!

How exactely is it mounted? When I installed mine, I took the brackets off of the factory radio and put them on the new radio. Then put washers behind the bracket before screwing it down. Had same problem as you.

If it is like an 83' you need to cut out a bigger space to let the CD player fit. I did that in mine =-)

'85 and '86 should have the standard DIN opening. Earlier models would require cutting.

It does have the din opening, but it appears to be undersized, I would hate to have to cut a perfectly good faceplate.

Any suggestions?

thanks!

Are you using the sleeve that should have come with CD player? If so DON'T I was going to have to cut mine,. then I decided to mount with factory brackets. Really need more detail, to understand your prob.
