What are the diffrences between the powerstrokes and the idi's , im pretty sure the powerstrokes have high pressure oil pumps and i know the idi's dont is that the only diffrence ,because i hear all the time mechanics usally dont understand powrstrokes what are the diffrences between the simple idi's and the powerstrokes ?
In a nutshell.... PSD is direct injected, vs. our IDIs are well... In-Direct-Injection.
To get more detailed than that you gots to talk to someone with more smarts than me. Im pretty sure they use the same bellhousing, and they have the same internal dimensions (stroke-bore), but they dont share any parts. Indeed they are completely different engines, just the same Cu/in
the power is a di motor direct injection vs indirect injection the power stroke has in injectors right in the head vs the idi has injectors out side the of the head
hey share one part the oil filter
Pstokes are computer controlled and direct injected.......IDIs are all mechanical and indirect injected. The only similarities are the displacement and the fuel burned
