It really sounds like the child locks are on. Not sure how the system knows that the child locks are on (relay?). Have you tried putting them on and seeing if it still does it? Labelled wrong?
I haven't, but I know it's not the child locks. Once the doors are unlocked you can open them from the inside. The child locks wouldn't allow the doors to be opened at all from inside the vehicle. I'm wondering if for some reason it's that I either didn't drive long enough for the parameters listed in the manual, or I somehow pushed the lock button and that disabled the auto-unlock of the rear doors. I'll have to screw around with it later.
My 08 came to me (used) with auto-unlock disabled. so when I got out, the rear doors were locked.. my occasional front passenger got out, and that operation unlocked their door from the inside.. both rears were locked.
the only time it gets me now is when I stop at the mailbox, leave the truck running.. and grrrr the rear door is locked, so I have to put down the package, open the drivers door, press unlock twice, the close the door, open the rear door..
my suburban was into /out of park.. locked/unlocked immediately
(drive you nuts too with all the locking/unlocking)
