The ScanGauge will not read the codes for the 6.0. It reads only OBDII codes and our engines use the CAN format. I have had engine codes stored and my SC said no codes. Plugged in the Autoenginuity and it read the codes that SC missed. Sorry for the bad news. Not sure why it says not ready though. MIne always says "no codes."

Wow didnt know that either... So even though my scan gauge says no codes.. There is still a chance it has one..... So on the scan setup its useless???
Since my code reader says I have no codes I always assumed that the scangauge was correct when saying no codes. Can anyone else enlighten us any further.
I don't have any CELs showing in the instrument cluster but when I go to see if there are any stored codes with my scangauge it just reads "Not Ready"
Its been doing that for a while, what does that mean and how can I get it into "ready"???
Go to the scan gauge web site under Faq...answers there..
Pretty much says not ready means it hasn't finished its scan for whatever reason...I believe it gives a fix...

According to the website it does and should be reading the codes that are reported thru the obd connector and can also clear them.
I wonder... I had a MAC code reader before. Installing the scan gauge and it would pull codes that never set the cel..... wonder if the scan gauge only reads cel codes...
For a while I was getting a cel on the dash. P0488 and a P0401. And another, but don't remember. The cel would come on. I would end up stopping, shut the key off. Turn the key back to on position and went to SCAN and it will show these codes, (mostly it was one or the other) then I would select clear codes. Then turned off the key, then turned back on and start the motor and the cel light would go off.
I have after clearing and checking that the cel was off, I would do the process over and the Scangauge will show there are no codes.
I'm just wondering..like I said I had a few codes that never set off the CEL and only found it when I plugged in my Mac tools code reader... (Code was bad Bad Clutch fan).. Since I have owned the scan gauge I have not bothered plugging in my Mac tools code reader..... Should I still scan it with my mac.. Even if the scan gauge says no codes and I have no CEL...
I have been trusting the Scangauge for reading codes. And it has for every "CEL" when it has popped up. Now I'm seeing that "maybe" it might not be picking up codes that don't set the "CEL". I might need to stop by an auto parts store and have them use their scan tool to just see.
My Mac tools code reader picked up a Code that never set the CEL abot 3 month ago(Bad fan clutch)... Anyone have any idea why some codes don't set the CEL??
