the stock springs are sagging badly and hardly support any weight. I'm looking for new replacement leaves. I know i need 2.5" wide springs but what you guys recommend? I'd like the rear to be a bit higher 1"-1.5" higher then the front and i'd like to pick up some load capacity without going to helper springs.
NDP? LMC? Rockauto?
WHere do you guys get your springs from?

I want to say you can pull the leaves from the years 1980-1996 f-150/f-100 2wd trucks only.
I got a set of leaves from a 1995 f-150 and they greatly helped it. It was basically a 2inch lift in the rear when i put them in. I also had some broken springs when i pulled it.
I was able to get both sides for only $75.00, and mine still had fresh black factory paint on them.

I replaced the old 4-leaf springs in my 85 F-150 4x4 with brand new ones from LMC. They cost me ebout a hundred bucks, plus I bought new bushings and shackles and u-bolts. I ordered the springs for the light-duty 3/4 ton trucks... A little wider and had an additional leaf. If you want to go all the way to a HD 3/4 ton rear suspension, you can order the same 5 leaf spring and then add the overload spring and frame stops. I pull a 16x8.5 foot enclosed trailer with mine, and it only lowers the rear end about an inch when I hook it up... Trailer has about 1500lb tongue weight.
My truck is a small bearing 9", small bolt pattern, with 4700# gvwr. I want to be able to put more then 600# in the bed and have the bumper dragging the ground. Mid duty f150 springs are what I'm looking for. I don't do a lot of towing but occasionally haul gravel, mulch, etc....

I would get the 4-leaf from LMC... The new springs should do just fine. I went with the 5-leaf because of the trailer, and because they were about the same price (maybe $10 more)

Actually, depending if your truck is a 2 or 4 wheel drive... LMC only lists a 5-leaf for the 2 wheel drive models...

Latest LMC catalog (FD.24 fall 2010) arrived about 2 weeks ago, and it shows the 2wd leafs as $129 and 4wd $149. Both show that you need 2 each, but coils and leafs are *typically* sold in matched pairs, so I would certainly call to clarify before ordering.
BTW, F100/F150 2wd uses 2.5" wide leafs, while the 4wd F150 and 2/4wd F250 both use 3" wide leafs. Converting to the 3" leafs would require both front/rear hangers and the shackles be changed. Lot of extra work and part cost that can be avoided, unless they all need replaced anyway.

Am I blind, or do they just not list anything for 2wd F100/F150 between 80 and 85?
I see 73-79, and 86-96. The 80-85 *should* be the same as the 86-96, but they skipped a few years there......
Decent pricing, though.

I get all of my brand new springs from Espo. Just call and tell Laura, I believe, what you want. They can even make them taller or shorter if you want.
