Question Need help with P-code rear springs

I just got a set of VP springs off a truck with 102k miles. Got them for $150. The V swap is relatively simple. I'm wondering what you guys would recommend for the P springs.

The part # is 3C34-5A975-CB. I've read that they are rated at 4400 lbs each. Pretty heavy duty. I'd like to have a level stance and am basically wondering:

1. Will they work on the Ex?
2. Should I modify them in any way?

Thanks guys. The Ford parts guy didn't have any details besides confirming that they were p-codes.

After doing more research,

It appears that the P's are pretty much identical to the P's and are rated at 6830. If that is true, I should just modify them like everyone does with the B's.

Can anyone confirm this? Ford couldn't tell me.

Here is a pic of them:

Crunk, I looked everywhere on my computer. I coulda swore I had saved info on the P spring at one time, but I couldn't find anything.

I did some digging around and turned up the same info. Probably the same posts you found.

Do you have the VIN of the truck you got the springs off of?

I am not a spring expert by any stretch of the imagination but I would think that it would really come down to what you want to accomplish. I am currently in the process of doing x codes with 2 inch hangers and modded b code's with a 4 inch block, in hopes that rear will remain a little higher. With modded b's (4inch block) vs. factory g codes, I went from 39.5 to 42.5 inches from the ground to fender well. The other question I would ask is do you need a really heavy duty spring for the rear? If not, I would be more concerned with ride height and comfort. Someone please correct me if I am out in left field. After reading your post again, I see that you want to be level.

Also found this. See post #31

The problem that I'm having is I'm finding conflicting information. One source says they are rated at 8800 lbs another says 6830. The spring package on the vin is VP. I feel like a v and a 8800# rear is an odd combo to be true. Wouldn't they put the u or x's up front?

If it helps, it was a diesel 4x4, 4 door with the lariat interior
