XF Spring Swap, not VB
On my EX I took the top overload leaf off the B code rears and added it to the bottom of the front X code pack. I have no plans to EVER bottom out again! If you get B codes with the top overload leaf it must come off anyway or it will hit your rear A/C tubing causing your wallet to depressurize. My before wheelwell measurements with stock 265's were 38 1/8" the after was 41 1/2". So about 3 3/8" lift and a lot firmer ride, firm like a truck not harsh like the stock EX banging the bumpstops.
My EX pulls a heavy toyhauler (11,200 GVW) with a very high tongue weight when the garage is empty. (Like 500# over the hitch rating!
) With the stock springs the rear sagged a good bit when towing so I did some B code mods. I added the two shortest leaves from the stock EX pack along with all of the EX spacers as well as keeping the stock EX slapper bar, I cut down the length as it won't work with the new taller pack. I went with the 3.75" tapered blocks also. The before measurement was 39 1/8" and the after was 43 3/4". The additional 4 5/8" in the rear gives it just a little more rake than I would prefer when unloaded but when hitched it sits level and rides great. I also installed the Rancho shocks from the F-250 (FX-4 with snow plow prep), I had to fab up new rear upper mounting bars as the superduties have different mounts. They are the cheaper Rancho's and are a little better than the stockers but I hope to catch the next Rancho My-Ride/9000 special sale to upgrade to the adjustable shocks. The rear lift also required modding the Hellwig rear sway bar end links, I cut off the original link rods and welded in new longer ones that are twice the diameter. You need to keep the bar ends parallel with the frame so any lift requires a change.Of course now it is just screaming for more tire/wheel with all that extra room in the wheelwells, but thats gonna have to wait for funding.
It really is a different truck after the swap.

It's not often that I see members on here from our area - good to know there are a few of us.
Actually moving the leaves around between the various packs was pretty easy, just sliced off the center bolts with a grinder and replaced with a new longer grade 8 bolt. The hardest part of the job was the actual manhandling of these heavy *** spring packs! Have a friend or two on hand.
As far your snowplow plans....thats just what the X codes were for so you should be good to go with a set of X's.
I always check out folks locations (when listed) and we have several active member from South East PA, I have not yet had the chance to meet anyone but look forward to it.
