I was thinking something like this:

Goodridge Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Line Kit for Custom Use - DennisKirk.com

Get a few sets of these and then fab up my own lines, complete with screw down fasteners (no need to worry about smashing the cap tips anymore with brass caps WOOHOO)

you can get those ends from JEGS Performance Auto Parts - Holley - Billet Specialties - Edelbrock - MSD - Moroso - Mr Gasket and Summit Racing as well, then get a bulk roll of 6' of the hose. bet it would come out a lot less.

I just wanted to point out the cost difference between the two and the cost for the brass caps compared to plastic.

I'm going to speak with the old man, hopefully tonight, and see if he has a PayPal account setup.

Are 7.3L IDI injectors identical to 6.9L IDI injectors? Same exact setup, but they changed the barb location for some reason? Will the on-center 6.9L caps work on 7.3L setups? Are the barbs at the same height from the top and bottom of the caps as the 6.9L caps? Are both styles identical sans offset barbs?

The injectors are the same, so the caps will fit directly on the injectors same as a 6.9. The barbs are the only difference. The 6.9 barbs are for 1/4" fuel line returns (?). While the 7.3 are fitted for 3/8". I switched my return lines over to 1/4" a long time ago tho. The 3/8" line was springing to many leaks around the caps. These caps will work fine on a 7.3 no doubt about it. Only need to switch to 1/4" fuel line or have very tight clamps.

Yeah, that definitely looks like a better way to go, Oreo, thanks.

Mechelement, It looks like you have two confirmed orders right now with me and mudd-duck and Oreo will surely get a pair after he sees the pics I am going to post...

If it is easier for your dad then I would be happy to mail a check.

michbol, I'll speak with him about PayPal and checks to get things sorted out.

oreo, larger diameter or longer? I don't think it would be a problem, just let me know. Stock was ordered for brass barbs in the 6.9 size and we'll order 7.3 barb stock.

larger diameter. for the 7.3l. id rather there be as little pressure in the lines as possible. for my return line i dont want the fuel to hit a pressure block when it tries to release from each injector.

I just got off the phone with my old man. All stock for the 6.9L IDI setup is in and ready for machining. He wants me to order one of the 7.3L caps and send it out to him because he wants to measure the proper size of the thru-holes.

Have any of you with a 7.3L run 6.9L caps w/o any issue?
