Switchable power source under dash for detector?
Just traded a F-250 for a new 2010 Platinum with max tow package. Great interior and the ride is lightyears better than the old "semi."
Need to find a source under the driver's dash for a switchable power for a radar detector. Got all the wiring in place to hook it up. Don't have the uplifter switches of the F-250...
Any ideas? TIA

What did you end up doing? You could get power from the rearview mirror.

i tapped into the 12v plug behind the dash and wire up an extra one. secured it up under the dash by the glove box and ran my wire from my radar under the tray on top of the dash and just plugged it in. yes it stays on all the time but it does hurt anything. you could even pull power off the radio on/off wire, or i think the cig lighter doesnt work if the key is off also.
