what options do we have for lighting? as far as just a replacement bulb? the lights especially the headlights, seem extremely dull on these trucks. can we get a led or the real bright white lights for these? i dont want the blue ones bc their illegal here. and im wanting a direct drop in. no wiring it a different way or any of that jazz. whats the hid? ive seen some of those kits on ebay?
For headlights, I suggest a relay setup which you can make yourself or get from LMC or Ebay. It will take the load of the lights off of the switch which will make it last longer. It will also supply more power to the bulbs which will make them brighter.
As far as headlight bulbs go, stay away from all tinted or blue bulbs. This includes Sylvania Silverstar.
I like GE Nighthawk (not sport). Its a good +30 bulb. The ones he mentioned are good too. I also like Sylvania Xtravision. Stick with clear bulbs.
If your lenses are yellow and fogged, brighter bulbs etc is not going to do much. If thats the case, replace the assemblies with new or restore them with something like Crystal View.
im looking at either tinting my turn signals and corner lights or buying the smoked ones. thats why im wanting them as bright as possible. i see some cars when im driving at night and their lights are like a very very bright white light as compared to the others being a more of a yellowish tint.
as for the dull headlights... you probably have the same problem i had and a lot of others have. i just used a headlight resto kit on them and you can definitely tell the difference. the kit is made by 3M and comes with everything you need for two headlights... just take your time and follow the instructions... you cant mess it up. i even did the girls car... hers were worse than mine.

Stick with the direct plug in type bulbs for your main lighting and if you like the LED look, use them for the parking light circut. Stay away from the hid lighting as your housing is not designed for it. The cut off will be wrong and you will be blinding to oncoming traffic. The bulbs with ballasts will of couse work but you look like an ***
I think so too. The problem is that the LED lights may make a somewhat brighter spot on the center but the rest of the light does not really reach all angles of the reflector inside the light assembly.
