Has anyone ever realized that most country music, when they’re talking about trucks, it’s always about Ford trucks? I never really realized that until now after reading the history between Ford and country music superstar Toby Keith.

In 2002, after hearing a few employees talk about how Keith’s collection of Ford trucks was something to be envied, a few of the Ford PR people approached the country music singer with a proposition. Be the company’s truck spokesman, much like Sam Elliot is for Ram. Keith agreed and the rest really is history.

Recently, Ford helped Mark Fields introduce both the new F-150 and Super Duty pickups, and gave an impromptu interview in the middle of a field surrounded by Ford’s trucks for his latest music video which not only features a Ford Raptor, an F-150, and the Tonka themed F-750 we saw earlier this year.

You can read the full interview with Keith here, and it’s an interesting read, especially when you consider the relationship between the two.
