The king of excess gets even more excessive with the Raptor R-based Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6×6, a mammoth creation by any standard.

Many would argue that the Ford F-150 Raptor – let alone the rip-roaring V8-powered Raptor R – are already over-the-top, in-your-face type of vehicles that don’t really need any additional infusion of attitude, and we certainly wouldn’t argue with that sentiment. However, there are plenty of folks that want more, and for them, companies like Hennessey Performance are here to offer precisely that. But while the Texas tuner has churned out some wild creations over the years, the new Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6×6 arguably tops them all.

As one might have guessed by the name, the Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6×6 is, in fact, a gussied-up version of the production F-150 Raptor R, which is already one of the most ridiculously amazing pickups on earth. Hennessey already offers a 1,000 horsepower version of that truck dubbed the VelociRaptor 1000, but here, the V8-powered pickup has instead been converted to six-wheel-drive, while the 5.2-liter V8 underhood has been left alone.

That means this monstrosity – which is 27 feet long, 7 feet tall, 7 feet wide, and weighs 6,500 pounds – still makes 700 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, which Hennessey figures is plenty. However, in this case, it has to move more weight, which has been added courtesy of an extended, boxed frame, an additional rear axle, and an 8-foot bed, which increases cargo capacity by a significant margin – who said massive trucks like this can’t be practical?

In addition to the 6×6 conversion, this truck also features upgraded front and rear bumpers, LED lighting, VelociRaptoR badges, and 20-inch wheels wrapped with 37-inch tires on the outside, completing its menacing upgrade. Underneath, Fox Live Valve shocks are complemented by Brembo brakes and a three-inch lift to round out the package.

As one might imagine, there’s nothing about the Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6×6 that isn’t excessive, and that includes the price tag of $499,999 – though that does including the donor truck, at least, which already starts out north of $100k. And while it’s probably going to be a bear to drive in tight spaces and we doubt any owner will ever take it off roading, the VelociRaptoR 6×6 is the perfect vehicle for those that find themselves always wanting more.
