2023 Ford Super Duty F-250 Tremor

This Ford Super Duty prototype was recently spotted bearing a host of interesting upgrades – could it be the next Tremor?

The Ford Super Duty was treated to its last redesign for the 2023 model year, but The Blue Oval didn’t waste any time updating it in many significant ways for the 2025 model year, either. As we’ve seen over the years, Ford is keen to continue to keep its heavy-duty hauler fresh amid ever-stiffening competition, and given just how tremendously profitable it is, that will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. Recently, spies came across a very unique Ford Super Duty prototype that may provide us with clues as to more forthcoming updates.

Those images were featured in this video from The Fast Lane Truck, and they’re notable for a number of reasons. For starters, it’s something of a mix and match in terms of exterior components, wearing Lariat badging coupled with a King Ranch tailgate appliqué. Those badges and tailgate adornments – along with the front grille, Blue Oval badge, side mirrors, and various other exterior components – are finished in black as well, giving it a unique appearance that may or may not signal a new factory offering.

As for the exterior color, well, it’s a bit different in tone compared to the existing Ford hue known as Desert Sand, and makes us instantly think of the Ford Super Duty trucks featured in the hit TV show, Landman. It’s certainly possible that this color will join the lineup in the future, as is typical with passing model years. Otherwise, this prototype is equipped with the standard Lariat wheels, which in this case are wrapped with 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires.

That latter feature is notable because if one assumes that we’re looking at potential updates for the Ford Super Duty Tremor, the current model comes equipped with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler tires from the factory. Up front, we see a Warn winch – currently a dealer-installed option for the Tremor – coupled with high-clearance bumpers, running boards, and, rather interestingly, a pair of roof rail crossbars up top.

As for what we might be looking at here, well, that’s anybody’s guess. We doubt that this is any sort of potential Ford Super Duty Raptor, as some are speculating, as it doesn’t have the typical wide bodywork or “FORD” badged front grille, nor what appears to be a fancy Fox suspension setup underneath. It’s more likely an updated version of the Tremor Ford is testing, potentially signaling more comprehensive updates similar to what the F-150 Tremor received as part of that truck’s 2024 refresh.

In any event, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a more off-road-capable Ford Super Duty join the lineup in the coming months or years, given how incredibly popular those types of vehicles continue to be.
