Batmobile Can’t Escape a Cop in a Ford Explorer!
Dark Knight finds that his famous ride is no match for a Ford.
A hilarious scene unfolded recently in Brompton, Canada. A man dressed as Batman was driving in his Michael-Keaton-era replica Batmobile, presumably responding to the Bat-Signal to exact justice in Gotham when, oh no, he saw those red and blue lights in his rear-view mirror. But what vehicle could best the Batman? Yes, it was a Ford Explorer.
An officer from the Ontario Provincial Police pulled over Bruce Wayne, oops, we mean the Dark Knight. In classic Batman fashion he hopped out of the roof to talk to the officer. We think the exchange might have gone like this:
Police Officer: “Do you know why I pulled you over?”
Batman: “The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules.”
Police Officer: “Um, no. Just checking on your registration there.”
Batman: “All men have limits. They learn what they are and learn not to exceed them. I ignore mine.”
Police Officer: “Alrighty then, you’re all set. Have a good one.”
The officer let Batman go, but thankfully not before some bystanders captured the exchange on video. They watch as he jumps back in his Batmobile and remarks, “What? She let him go? Awesome!”
We love that the Batmobile was humbled by a Ford. It makes sense, as the creator of the Batmobile, George Barris, was a Ford man.
But watching him in admiration, we can’t help but think he’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
