Refurbished in all the right places, this gorgeous 1976 Ford F-250 is a true gem of a find.

There’s no question that 1970s Ford trucks are red hot these days, but for those of us that have been into them for a long time now, this comes as no surprise. We’ve always known that this particular era of Blue Oval haulers is something special, and it took the rest of the world far too long to figure that out. Problem is, it’s not terribly easy to find a good deal on one of these gems anymore, and this gorgeous 1976 Ford F-250 up for grabs at Bring a Trailer probably won’t be an exception, either.

This particular 1976 Ford F-250 isn’t 100 percent stock, but it also isn’t modified to the point where it’s offensive by any measure. It has also been treated to a partial refurbishment, including a repaint in its original Copper Metallic hue with a Wimbledon White roof, while all of the chrome and related brightwork looks fantastic as well. A set of matching white steel 16-inch wheels are also original to the truck, but are now wrapped in 285/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 white-letter tires.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a contrasting tan vinyl bench seat, door panels, and dash pad, though the carpet and upholstery were redone previously. Outside of a Kelsey-Hayes trailer brake controller, everything inside the cabin is pretty much original, right down to the AM/FM radio and steering wheel. Underneath, however, the previous owner did install a set of Hellwig rear springs, while also adding new dual front shocks and brake calipers and pads.

Pop the hood, and you’ll find Ford’s common 390 V8, which is present in a lot of these trucks and is a solid and reliable powerplant. This one has been rebuilt in recent years and treated to a set of hardened valve seats and a new exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, and sends its power to the rear wheels via a replacement C6 automatic transmission and a one-ton axle with a limited-slip differential.

This F-250 certainly seems like a mechanically sorted, cosmetically beautiful pickup that any Blue Oval fan would love to own and drive, but with bidding already near the $20k mark with four days to go, it probably won’t sell for what anyone might call a bargain. But then again, popularity isn’t always a good thing, now is it?
