96 psd check engine light/ low power
I have a 96 psd. twice the check engine light has come on and it has run at reduced power for about 30 seconds. Today it came on and stayed on. I have ohmed the injectors and they all checked out good. Any idea's? This is my only vehicle and any help would be great.

You cannot test the PCM & the EBPV or sensor will not set a light .. Get the code ...

Welcome to FTE. At least give us a better description of the lack of power. Let's start with the basics. Any mods to the truck? How many miles on this oil change and is the oil full? Air and fuel filter not past due for a change?
What are you doing when the truck loses power? Getting on the freeway or driving through a school zone? Does the engine make any unusual sounds? Any smoke out the tail pipe? Do the RPM's go up when you mash on the skinny pedal? Is the engine smooth or surging when this happens?

There are no modifications to the truck. I am at 2200 miles since the last oil change. When this happened before i was going below 40 mph. When it came on yesterday it was sitting at an idle. It is vey rough when in this state. like it is running on 6 cylinders. the rpms do go up when i get on the gas but there is no power.

Tell Rick you've probably got a P1316 code
There are 2 flat connectors on the inboard side of each valve cover. Grab a multi meter and set it to read ohms. Check the forward and rearward pin on each connector against battery ground looking for a reading of less than 2 ohms. Check the middle pin against the 2nd and 4th pin looking for a reading of less than 5 ohms.
It's fairly common for these plugs to either come loose under the valve cover, or to get a burnt pin on the connector. Sometimes just wiggling the connectors when it's running rough will let you know which one has the problem.
