Value of Wrecked '96 F250 PSD?

An unlicensed and uninsured driver wrecked my '96 F250 PSD last week. My insurance company is covering it and has made me a reasonable offer. I can take one price and they keep the wreck, or I can keep the wreck and deduct $1,400. Anyone have any idea what I might be able to sell the truck for if I keep it? Engine and tranny are fine, interior is very good (XLT package). Left side of the truck is gone. Right side has minor damage.

I'd keep it if you needed the engine and tranny for another project, or get rid of it if not needed

Yeah, usually the insurance company comes up with that number ($1400) by calling salvage yards, so it's probably what it's worth as salvage.

How many miles on the engine/trans? I would probably keep if it was me.

I would keep it; the parts are probably worth far more than $1400, especially the engine and transmission if the miles are relatively low.

Sorry to here about the loss.

I Got 12200 For My 95 Psd With 248k Miles. The Front End On Mine Was Seriously Damaged. Alot Of It Depends On The Insurance Co You Are Dealing With.

7.3 L diesels are going from $50 to $5000 on ebay, depending on condition (core to rebuilt). Figure your engine and trans combo is worth $1000-$1400 if in good condition.

also depending on axles, if it has a solid front axle, dana60, than you can get a decent price out of that. (i have seen both TTB and solid front axle on a F250)
