Question windshield & back glass install

I bought the new gaskets for my 56 at a local swap-meet today . I'm concerned because the instructions are obviously wrong . The instructions for the windshield say the "rope" is pulled on the inside while the helper pushes on the outside , which I,m sure is correct . However the instructions for the rear glass , a small window , by the way , say the same . Im sure that the "rope" has to be pulled from the outside , with helper pushing on the inside . I hope the quality , or the lack thereof , of the instructions is not an indication of the quality of the gasket.Anybody else had this happen?

You are correct. The thick section of the rear glass rubber goes inside the cab. You have to install it pushing out and with the rope on the outside.

In my 48 my back glass went in easily pulling the rope to the outside but halfway through the installation of my windshield the rope got very hard to pull and I was afraid of damaging the rubber so I backed up a little and took the rope out. I finished the installation using my fingers. It was a lot easier job than I expected.

My son & I put the back glass in today. In went in without a problem . The windshield will be installed after I paint the dash and the area which will be covered by the rubber. One more thing can be crossed off my to-do list.
