Flowmasters are probably the least sissy mufflers you can get. If you have a V8 then get a 40 series Flowmaster muffler and you'll love it. Go to exhaustsoundclips.com, they have clips of a flowmaster on an F150.

Talking

ive got a 90 F-150 with a 5.0, and ive got true duals and 40 series flowmaster, and it just doesnt sound like i want it to, it would be nice if it sounded like that 95 F-150 on exhaustsoundclips.com lol, would it make much of a diff if i put headers on or other engine mods?

An intake kit and headers would both make it louder. I think flowmasters, magnaflow, dynomax or gibson would sound good on a V6. I've only got a 4banger but I put a dynomax superturbo on and it sounds pretty mean. You can get one of those for about $40 at advance auto parts or $20 on ebay.

I've had Gibson split rear on my truck and now have Flowmaster 40's. the Gibson was not loud enough. Almost sounded stock. Flows are much better if you want to be heard

the reason why his doesn't sound like yours is because he removed his cat. wouldn't surprise me if he was running headers as well.

Flowmaster are very nice when setup right. On my 77, I know no cats, but its a true dual system with an H-pipe located in the correct posistion and the exhast out the rear. Normal drive it rumbles nicely just asking to be romped on. Jump on it and it roars. Before it blew-up I love smoking the rice burners. The look on there faces more than made up for a 7k build that last 3 months.

On a newer truck with a small block I would look at what type of exhust system is on the mustang cobra. I think those are one of the sweetest sounding stock exhausts I have ever heard.
