Don't remember what brand they were but I had glasspacks on a Chevy 3/4T w/ 350 at first they sounded good, nice deep sound but after a couple years they starting to sound just annoying.
i currently run a 30" glasspack on 2 1/4" exhaust on a stock 300-6, and it rumbles alright, but i want more noise when i get on it...of course, no matter how much noise it will ever make, it won't be fast until i get the motor re-done....it's verrrry tired...lol...
Well I would say Flowmasters all the way, Until my truck lost the pickup in the dist going down the road and caused it to backfire blowing up both of my mufflers now I went back to glasspacks
Flowmasters by far!!! Not only do they sound really cool, they also help improve your engines performance. They are more expensive than glass packs but, then again, you are getting more than just sound.
I have duals on the 81 (cast efi manifolds, 2.25 pipes) with a 2-in, 2-out Magnaflow muffler. I would've used Thrush glasspacks as I did on my 77 - they sound nice, last, and are cheap - but this is how my cousin built it. I know it sounds nice but I can't hear it - the tailpipes go all the way to the rear and so does the sound. I may cut them right behind the muffler, under the bed.
I know it sounds nice, I've heard my cousin drive it. And I can hear the buzz as it passes through 1600rpm, especially in 3rd.
I had a chery bomb before and it sounded like a ricer or a loud fart. Took it off until I had to put a muffler on to smog it. I bought a flowmaster 40 series and put a turn down on it. It sounds great, like a truck should. When I was shopping for mufflers I went to the muffler shops with a straight pipe and actually tried all the different performance mufflers i could think of. The only one that sounded different was the flowmaster. The others sounded like a straight pipe only quieter. Hope this helps.
