Tranny help

Sean,
He's going to have to find a shop that will flush the internal trans cooler in both directions. I've never had to find someone to do that so I'm skeptic about that getting done. The three radiator shops that existed when I was hot rodding in my youth are gone. People now just buy new radiators, including shops. Maybe it's just my area.
Second choice is going to be into a dealer and ask them to flush the radiator off the truck. Again, maybe there's a dealer that will do that and again I'm skeptic. I think they are going to want the whole truck.
If it was me I'd be getting some hose, hard lines and fittings from a hydraulics shop that would fit on the trans and fit them to the air-trans cooler so I could get the truck rolling and see where I'm at. Or if willing to spend the money I just get a new radiator and be done with it.
Hopefully I'm wrong and he's found someone to flush the radiator without dragging the truck around on a hook, but I was just trying to look outside the box and give him options so I asked the question.

Heavy equipment shop or a hydraulic shop should have the equipment to do that
type of flush. When you kill a pump you have to flush the coolers and some get into
some real high dollar amount. You can't just toss them in that case.
We used to have Spanaway Speedway here and when it finally closed a lot of the
good shops went with it.

Alright my neighbors prolly think I'm crazy. It's 5 o'clock in the morning and I just finished installing the trans!!! I need this thing running. Okay I got radiator flush and purshased a new tranny cooler. One thing is is that the tranny cooler I got ( from napa ) is like way smaller then what was on the truck. Is this okay??
If anyone can let me know on that asap I would greatly appreciate it. Now I've gotta get some shut eye so I can get up and finish this.

I would take it back and tell them to get the right one. Did they get the
Power Steering one by any chance? Also make sure that they understand
it's a 6.0 not a 7.3
And don't let then say "It will work".

If you mean the flush solvent that you put in the radiator you're going to need a new trans soon. That doesn't even go into the trans cooler in the radiator. It is useless for what you need.
No, that is not OK. It will overheat and ruin your new trans.

The cooler in your photo is grossly undersized.
I think you should put away enough money to replace the trans again. The trans isnt going to last long at all.

More than likely with what you have said the shop that your going to is only
doing the coolant side and not the oil side.
So that I will be clear on this you have to do.
The coolant lines,The transmission cooler in the radiator
and the remote mounted transmission filter housing.
Also you must use Mercon SP or LV fluid and NO additives.
Skip any steps and you get to do it again. any pay for it again. Not fun at all.

Inside the radiator is a cooler for the transmission. Transmission fluid flows through this cooler. Outside the cooler, but still inside the radiator, is engine coolant. The radiator shop is almost certainly cleaning the side where the engine coolant goes. That will not get any of the debris out of the transmission cooler that is inside the radiator. It is this internal cooler that needs to be cleaned. The only effective way I know to clean this cooler is to cut the radiator open, then cut the cooler open, and then scrap the whole thing because it's junk.

Mark, The best results would be in replacing both coolers.
But would the flush machine fo any good on the oil to coolant cooler?
I am also thinking that by the time you get it done right you
may as well put a new radiator and lines in and be done with it.
