Transfer case compatibility

My transfer case in my 94 f350 just started dumping a lot of aluminum shaving into the oil, it has 282k miles on it. Just changed oil 20k ago.

I found a transfer case from a 93 f150, manual shift and slip yoke output like mine.

Will it work?
Mine has a pto option but does that matter?
What is with the different metals, mine is mag and aluminum case halves.

I'm rebuilding before I do the swap so I don't have a long downtime waiting for parts.

Which TC is in the truck now, and which one is in the 1/2 ton? I did kind of the same thing. I pulled a TC out of a 1980 3/4 ton Borg Warner 4 spd and swapped it over to my 97 F350 with the ZF S5-42. (My 1980 was not factory by any means though. Had a 460 down in her, so the drive train was probably from a different truck as well. I believe it was the NP208 that it had in it.

Both are BW 1356
Both are manual shift with slip yoke
If I'm correct, the front yoke is different? Will mine just swap over?

Update: I drove another thousand miles and dumped the transfer fluid, still have a lot of glitter( no 4x4 action).

In the local junkyards I found a transfer case with 47k miles. It's out of a 95 f250.

Is the front yoke swap just an unbolt and swap ordeal?
Besides losing the PTO option, are there any drawbacks?

The yoke will swap over. I have interchanged pto and non pto cases with no issues.

Would you happen to know the nut size and if there is a torque spec?

If you had the option, find one from a f150 or f250? Just go for least miles? Certain years?

I just want to swap it over and be carefree for another 100k miles

The 1356 cases are all the same, 150, 250, 350, With the exception of the front yoke. Go with the best value to lowest miles.

2009 f250 super duty diesel transfer case

will a 2002 f250 transfer case fit on a 2009 f250? I need a new transfer case and front and rear driveshafts and I’m wondering if a 2002 parts will fit a 2009??
