C250 trans and transfer swap
hey everyone so a few months back I bought and had my buddy go pick up a 1991 C250 for me(i'm deployed so i couldn't). On his way back to Iowa from Indiana he made it about 400 of the 450 miles and the transfer case said screw me. So i had it towed to my parents drive way and its sat there for about a month now. My dad drove it around the block and she wont shift out of 1st and it'll only move if its in 4 low.
Right now it has the auto trans with the auto transfer. The transfer case is the flange type for the drive shaft.
My dad went down to the junk yard and they have a 1990 F250 with the ZF5 trans(which is what i wanted to put in it from the start) and the manual shift transfer case. The trans in the truck is the slip yoke style. So i know stuff i need for the manual trans and manual transfer swap but the flange to slip yoke threw me a curve ball.
What will i need to deal with the difference in drive shafts?
On a side not getting all the stuff I need from this Junk yard is only going to cost me about $250

The flange style yoke on the transfer case is a Bronco only item I think. If both transfer cases are the Borg Warner 1356, you can swap the flange from the old transfer case to the new one, however since you're changing to the ZF5 also, I'm not sue how much that'll change the required length of your driveshaft.
I'd have your dad get the rear driveshaft from whatever truck the trans and xfer case are coming out of. Worst case scenario, you need a longer driveshaft made, but you'll already have the ends you'll need.
