2004 Lincoln Navigator no pick up
Hi All ,
This past weekend I changed the coil packs and reset the check engine light by disconnecting the neg battery terminal for 15 mins and reconnecting it. I took the car for a drive and everything seemed fine.
This morning my daughter came back from vacation and took the car for work and now she says the car does not go over 50.
Any suggestions on what to look for ?
Thanks in advance,
MP.

You most likely didn't plug the #8 coil properly. For U1900, that's harder to troubleshoot without more info as it is more like a generic communication error on the network between the modules. If you have an OBD-scanner (bluetooth or USB), use FORScan (free) to find out which module is throwing that code, or ask that Advanced Auto shop about which module had that code. It can be a simple fix, like a broken wire or connector needing cleaning and reseating, or it can be an internal fault in a module.

Swap the #7 and #8 COPs (your engine doesn't have coil packs) and drive it to see if the problem stays with the #8 coil driver circuit or follows the COP to #7.
The U1900 indicates a communication error over the CAN Bus network. (Your vehicle supports three different network protocols so that the various modules can share data between them. Its prolly gonna take a Ford high end scan tool to identify the problem. You could at least double check your COP swap work to see if you may have cause a boo boo to the wiring harness, and also check that no fuses have blown.) And it may run fine with the U1900 - just depends on what data is not getting through which network.)
