Help!! Adjustable pedals not working.

Hey everybody,
here is my problem, actually I just noticed this this evening, the adjustable pedals on my 03 Expy w/ 66K are not working properly. They only move about a quarter of a turn in either direction. The last time that the pedal adjuster was used was this June, July time frame, I was giving my daughter driving lessons, they worked just fine. My wife drove the expy today, so when I went to return some movies I knew I had to adjust the pedals, but to my surprise they didn't move the full amount as they previously have done.
Has any one else had or have this problem with there pedals? Does any one know what is the cause or the solution to the problem? I did a search and found no info on this topic. I'm about to spend $1000 on new tires and can't afford to spend more $$ right now.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My 99 has same issue. The jackscrew on the brake is binding and the whole brake pedal assembly has to be replaced.

I was told that it had something to do with the power seat not working properly as there are a few Expeditions that have both issues, the drivers seat height adjustment does not work (motor engages but seat seems stuck) and at the same time the pedals stopped working

Was this ever resolved?

I just replaced the battery in my 07 EL with power seat and pedals. Now the power seat is intermittently pausing or not working when I put the key in the ignition and the wife discovered that the pedals are not adjusting. Any known solutions for this?

Disconnecting the battery might've wiped out the memory for the driver's programmed buttons 1 and 2. Reset the mirrors, seat, and pedals to where you want them, then save the positions into memory.

The plastic gear is broken inside the pedal adjustment mechanism. Happened to me. Only fix is to replace the entire mechanism.

Curless - do you still make the brass gears? I'm looking to fix my broken plastic gear.
