ok i have a 92 f-150 4x4 manual trans 4.9L (of course) the codes are 173, 213, and 411 in that order.
173 is bank 1 rich
213 is lose of spout
411 is idle to high cant control low rpm
it all started when my mil light came on. i saw the i had loss of spout. i went to alldata and went throught the steps of diagnosing code the first step is check timing. i did. its at 10 btdc. well if you plug in spout it dosnt change and it is supose to jump to 17 or 20. so i go to next test, so on and so on...last it said check engine running and probe breakout box, pin 36 to batt ground, supose to be 3 to 10 volts. well i had 10.5 to much.. it said to replace computer. i did.. and still the same codes. then a guy at work told me to replace ignition module so i did and still same codes. and then it died on me on highway (with new module). so i went to Murrays, Auto zone, Federated Auto even, and get this i told them to test the module before i bouhgt it and they all failed. the guy at work told me the only way to get a good module is to go to dealer, is this true, they want $135, my cost is $110. is this module going to fix my problem. or is it just a waste of money. truck runs better with old module but has no spark advance, acording to harmonic bal. when spout is pluged back in. hell i even replaced the o2 sensor, wanted to anyways.. please help all are welcome....

 

Double check the ECM ground on the battery cable, and make sure the connector is clean and fully plugged in at the ECM. Aside from that, it may be an internal harness or computer problem.

 

i checked all that from the alldata diagnostics sheat, i guess it wouldnt hurt to check again. the computer is new from ford. still with problem.
