Check the free stuff first. Check all your grounds. Battery post, chassis ground in front of battery, PCM ground near left hood hinge. Frame. Engine block. Pull them off and clean down to shiny metal. Connect them back tight.
The next likely suspect is the TFI module and/or the Hall effect sensor. Loss of IDM will not itself cause an engine miss -- instead it is a way for the computer to report that the TFI and coil are not working right.
A distant and fairly unlikely suspect is the ignition coil.
