I was wondering if there is a site anyone knows of where it will help interpret fault codes? I have a nissan maxima and i failed emissions because of a trouble code and i cant interpret the code.I think it is one of the coil packs but im not sure. The car is a 2000 and is running but slight misfire somewhere and im not sure of the code. Thank you for any info.
I am getting a p1320 misfire in ignition module intermittent pulses. I was hoping it would be a coil pack thats easy to find and fix other than that i am clueless.
I have found the problem, it is either a crankshaft sensor or a camshaft sensor. It is going to my mech. to be scanned on Tues.Ill keep yall posted. gday.
Does your tachometer work? If the CPS (camshaft position sensor) goes, it won't register anything. In addition, you're engine wouldn't run since it wouldn't know when to fire the spark plugs.
Now, they can work intermittently, but if your engine is running as you get this code, it's not the CPS.

Not true! The engine will run without the camshaft position sensor! The crankshaft position sensor provides the main signal for timing spark, and
fuel injector pulses!

That's incorrect and BS, the crank position sensor + the software in the ECM (or whatever Datsun calls them) will enable the engine to run with a failed cam position sensor.
*tps93, since this isn't a Ranger specific question, you may benefit from a broader audiance by posting this (or having it moved) to the GAD forum.
