At least you know now and still have a thick wallet. Get a good set of gauges (monitor things) and enjoy your truck. You can address things before they actually fail and have a good experience with your truck...

One thing I remember is one of his videos,, he shows pouring new ford gold coolant in,, and directly pours in the additive!!!! Doesn't sound too bad??? Just read the bottle of the additive.

Come one be nice.
He just wants his 15 minutes of fame.

10 times an hour. That has to be one for the
ratio books on fame per hour.

If you want to bulletproof your truck (Not sure WTF "dealerproof" is) take it to somebody else. If you just have a stock engine there isn't a lot of need to do that until it actually blows a head gasket, if it ever does.

Looking at that website gives me an instant headache, so I'm not sure what exactly he does for $7900, but I can assure you, it's a rip off. My mechanic will install head studs for about $2400 parts/labor. It doesn't come with a warranty, but I could afford to do that three times over and still have money left over.

For that matter, the dealer will probably do it for $3-5000. I can buy a whole running 6.0L truck for less than $7900!

I ran across one of his videos when I first started searching for a 6.0, my BS meter pegged pretty quick.

Talking to one of the mechanics at our local Ford dealer and they are now bullet proofing the 6.0 and 6.4's. Guess the warranty work on them is really slowing down. They claim the majority of 6.7 work is oil changes and general maint. Really biting into their pay checks.

Dealerproof? What, is he not offering the GORILLA PROOFED 6.0 anymore? It's just not worth my time unless my engine is protected from large primates. And what about his EDAS deal?

I would think the best way to make your truck "dealer proof" would be to not take it to the dealer, but where's the fun in that?

If you want to get a set of 'traditional' gauges, you'd normally select EGT, Trans & boost. Some guys monitor fuel pressure.

The link that money proof posted is good info. I went with a Scan Gauge myself.

Here is a check list of to do items that another member posted
Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - View Single Post - Just bought 06 F350 FX4 6.0!!

Don't think I'm suppose to post links from other sites.....so Google "What to look for when buying a used 6.0L". Some good info there.

Make sure to use factory oil & fuel filters. Racor makes both - so you can actually buy 'Racor' filters & same some significant money versus buying Motorcraft. Same filters - different boxes.

Honestly, with some reliability mods, these are really solid running trucks.
