Ok we will start from the beginning. Last fall my wife was driving here excursion on the interstate. She went to get off on the off ramp and the truck made a big clunk and wouldnt move. We put it on a trailer and brought it home. From what I could see the TC adapter had broke. I put a new one in and then the truck will drive but when it shifts to 3rd the OD light would start blinking and would not sshift up or down. At that point the trans was smoked. I went ahead and put the trans and tc out of my 04 f250 in the excursion. Mine was rebuilt about 6 months before and was just a farm truck not a kid hauler. Now everything is in and it still dos the safe mode thing. I towed it to ford and they couldnt pull any codes. They just basically gave up and told me I need another new Transmission. I am lost. i have replaced the vss sensor along with the trans and the alt. Still have same issues. Someone help before I light this thing on fire.
Unfortunately you took it to an incompetent Ford dealer. That happens.
There are codes stored. They couldn't read them for whatever reason. You MUST get those codes to diagnose what's wrong. You might try a good independent shop, one that has a reputation for finding and fixing electrical problems.
