How do i dissasemble and clean my own injectors? Metal shavings in oil.

Pulled a 6.0 out of a 03 with 34k original miles that is locked up tight. Former owner said it started to rattle so he shut it down. Next morning he tried to start it and it was locked up. I pulled the motor and there is a lot of metal shavings in the filter both ferris and non ferris so i am guessing the bearings are toast. I have a replacement engine but it does not have injectors. I would like to use the ones out of the 34k engine but would like to clean them out first to eliminate any metal shavings that may have made it past the filter.
Does anyone have a tutorial on how to tear these down to clean the oil side out? Thanks for your time!

ETA, or do i even need to worry about metal shavings having made it past the filter and into the injectors? If the screen under the oil cooler is intact would it have stopped any metal from getting to the injectors as well? Thanks again.

Basically removing the coils and spool will allow the upper to be sprayed out. No need to disassemble the lower as there is no oil in contact.

An FYI, the original early 6.0 injectors are inferior to the later DLC injectors.

So i would not have to pull the two screws out and separate the sections to gain access to oil and fuel pistons to clean them as well?
When you have injectors in hand, how do you determine the later from the newer? I know the 03 wont have the newer ones but for future reference how do you tell them apart? Thanks

The early injectors had a white plastic coil cage, late style is black.

I personally wouldn't separate the lower and upper.

I wouldn't either. The only user serviceable part is the nozzle and that's not where the problem lies.

1 year and 500 miles or 1year and 30k?

Makes a big difference stating miles versus years.

Just had a truck in with warren aftermarket injector ... 8 new , done by the owner of the truck ... Tested 3 bad after one week of driving, Warren did overnight him new ones and he replaced them, came back for more testing and 2 more were dropping off ... Ford only on injectors... my opinion ... But if you have metal in your oil, you have bigger problem than injectors...

A little over 5k miles short in town driving only. Hope they hold up for a while. A real pain to replace these things.

To follow on the line of thought - miles, years and type of driving would be the better information. Either statement alone doesn't make for a useful story.
