Is there any way that when you put it in drive the trans can build enough pressure to kill, or seriously load the engine?. Im watching the pids on a solus and the line pressure starts at 310kpa, and builds to over 1510kpa, as it does this the engine is taking on a load. Just had the pan off and didnt see anything alarming in it. Also while watching the my sg ger position it starts in 1, then shifts to 2,3 then jumps to 5, then 6. Im still troubleshooting my issue in the thread i started " weird bog feeling". Its getting more weird by the day.
Strange thing is one time itll drive and shift fine, then its like its stuck in 5th gear. After i get rolling itll respond to the accelerator pedal, but not very well. When it acts up ive noticed that the rpm's will slowly come down with the vehicle speed and not drop right down to 800 when i let off at hiway speeds. Wondering if i have a pressure solenoid sticking. No tow/haul light flashing.

No, not really. If the pressure is raised very high at idle it can starve the converter, which will cause the lockup clutch to drift on. That will load or stall the engine.

That's interesting, but doesn't mean anything. What does the actual pressure do? This is just what the computer is telling the trans to do.

That's good, that is what it is supposed to do.

Fix that before doing ANYTHING to the transmission. ALWAYS fix any engine problem before attempting to fix the trans.

So if the pressure's raised at idle it will load or stall the engine?. Im going through all possibilities, but have no tow/light flashing. All the old threads ive read with trans issues, almost all had a trans code of some kind. Thanks for the reply, going to read it with ae tomorrow, hopefully it'll shed some light in this dark cave im in.
No, it cannot. But if it is too high at idle it can cause the torque converter clutch to drift on, which will load or stall the engine.
You did, just wasnt real clear on the answer. Seems the pressure is raising at idle, causing the converter clutch to drift on. Engine checks out ok. Just my luck. Ill pull the pan and solenoid pack and change the tcc, and the line pressure solenoids and hopefully that'll cure my problem. Thanks for your input mark, i appreciate it.
Yeah, thanks though curt. Ill pull the solenoid body down and clean everything up. Been meaning to change the lo/reverse solenoid anyway. Ill just add the tcc/lp one to the to do list.
